About this talent acquisition simulation
SummitWorks is a free, browser-based recruitment and selection simulation for students of strategic human resource management. You play the HR lead at a fictional 280-person Ontario manufacturer that has won a new customer contract and must hire 18 people in 90 days: technicians, customer coordinators and operations analysts.
The evidence is realistic and messy. Job boards, specialist networks and referrals produce very different numbers of qualified applicants at different costs, internal transfers create backfill gaps, and six of the last twenty hires left within six months. You decide how to source candidates, what to promise in the employer brand, which selection evidence to trust, whether to accept an AI-generated shortlist, and how to make the appointment and onboarding hold.
What you will practise
- Building a recruitment pipeline and comparing sourcing channels
- Writing a credible employer value proposition
- Choosing valid, job-related selection methods
- Spotting equity risks in automated (AI) screening
- Turning onboarding into retention, and reporting the business outcome
Created for Strategic Human Resources Management, Chapter 5 (Talent Acquisition). It ends with a personalized report you can print or submit. All organizations and outcomes are fictional. See all Strategic HRM simulations or all free simulations.
